To help the planet, start with fixing humans.

It will be hard to address the climate challenge with consumption restrictions and pollution control when countries like Nigeria, India, or Indonesia are still in earlier phases of development. New clean energy technologies are the most realistic solutions.

Creating an international climate organization would address our key planetary challenge and bring together nations that have ceased to communicate and cooperate, such as the US and China.

Unless we are willing to cooperate, share and give up some sovereignty at the global level for climate, technological security, and health, we are putting humanity and the planet at an existential risk. It is the classic struggle of individuals versus community.

A climate organization anchored by the presidents of the US and China is needed, both for our planet and to establish a direct line of communication between the two superpowers. Urgent on both counts.

The world’s energy needs can be achieved by capturing solar power from outer space to be transmitted to earth.

As opposed to hoping to reduce emissions, which goes against human nature, we should better harness energy sources. The sun and the deep earth are natural providers - channel those.

Energy is the biggest factor in our lives. It enabled our progress and the industrial revolution, and it is now threatening our planet. Yet, its correct use will save us.

By living in a more digital realm, could we “dematerialize”, and consume less in the physical world, therefore helping the climate?

We have had crises and chaos in the past but this is the first time in human history that we face challenges that we not only caused, but which could escape our ability to manage - like climate.

Simulating situations and playing out serious possibilities helps us resolve issues and plan. So it is with our earth and what we can learn from other planets.

With the climate crisis growing and AI and biotechnology powers unleashed, humans will increasingly realize that their survival and habitat are at stake. Will this galvanize the human species to come together around a higher calling, as if a new religion?
