That’s what I just did sitting my 98 year old mother, at her bedside, and with my children, both 6, who also held, hugged and kissed her. My mother’s fondest memories are of those she loved and loves, and of her favorite places, all physical connections and experiences. The results may be mental, but the inputs analog.
Time is valuable, limited and expiring. Of all, time spent with children is the most precious as they change so fast. A child today is very different from six months ago, and sometimes from yesterday.
Through children you discover life.
The rings between parents and children are those of life - unbreakable, regardless if loose, tight, easy or painful. The chain of life starts there.
What should you wish for your children: a life of happiness and health versus your vision of accomplished, meaningful and moral lives - their lives or the ones you want them to lead (not that your ideas aren’t the right ones to help them)?
